Durante la entrega de los Premios Billboard de la Música Latina Juan Gabriel recibió un reconocimiento por 45 años de trayectoria.
Miami.- Juan Gabriel, Alejandro Fernández y Marco Antonio Solís brillaron durante la entrega de los Premios Billboard de la Música Latina al ser reconocidos con premios especiales, mientras que Enrique Iglesias y Nicky Jam fueron los máximos ganadores con siete preseas cada uno.
Durante la ceremonia celebrada en el Bank United Center de la Universidad de Miami, El Divo de Juárez fue homenajeado con el Premio Estrella por sus 45 años de trayectoria.
Además, el cantautor recibió cinco premios: Gira del Año, Mejor Álbum Latino, Artista del Año, Masculino y Álbum Latino Pop, Artista del Año, Solista. Su álbum «Los Duo» ganó por Mejor Álbum Latino del Año, y Álbum Pop del Año.
Por su parte, El Potrillo se llevó el Premio Billboard Salón de la Fama por su influencia en los géneros ranchera y balada.
El Buki recibió el Premio Billboard Trayectoria.
Otros que recibieron estatuillas especiales fueron Daddy Yankee y Don Omar, quienes recibieron el Premio Líder de la Industria.
Iglesias y Jam ganaron seis premios por su colaboración en el tema “El Perdón” en la categoría Hot Latin Song», Canción del Año; «Hot Latin Song», Colaboración Vocal; Canción del Año, Airplay; Canción del Año, Digital; Canción del Año, Streaming y Canción «Latin Rhythm» del Año.
Además, Enrique Iglesias ganó en los apartados de «Latin Pop Songs» Artista del Año, Solista; mientras Nicky Jam ganó «Latin Rhythm Songs» Artista del Año, Solista
La ceremonia de los Premios Billboard 2016 fue transmitida por Telemundo.
